True Albino Teacher Mushroom Grow Kit

The True Albino Teacher is an albino variant of the Golden Teacher, one of the most popular strains of Psilocybe cubensis. The 'true' part of the name emphasises that this variant is completely pigmentless, rather than just white. Although it differs from the Golden Teacher in several ways, it still retains some family resemblances. The True Albino Teacher will not be confused with APE (Albino Penis Envy), as the latter looks, well, penis-like, but the other possible sources of confusion are. According to legend, this albino variety began as a spontaneous mutation in a container of Golden Teachers, but was subsequently stabilised through careful work by a mycologist. Fortunately, this mushroom does not grow in the wild, so the chances of coming across one without a grower or dealer to tell you what it is are very slim.

• The True Albino Teacher's potency ranges from slightly above average to considerably strong. In this respect, it is similar to the Golden Teacher, but stronger. However, the trip effects themselves are similar to those of other Psilocybe cubensis species.

Instructions for setting up True Albino Teacher Grow Kit

Make sure your work area is clean to prevent other micro-organisms from contaminating your grow kit. It is important to work hygienically. Always use clean tap water or mineral water for misting and soaking your grow kit. Do not use distilled or demi water as it is not suitable.

1. Remove the bag from the box and unroll it.

2. Open the bag by removing the airtight clip at the top. Supply the bag with some fresh air by gently stretching it and then close it again with the clip. To prevent mushrooms from growing on the sides of the substrate, you can put an elastic band around the outside of the bag at the level of the top of your substrate to reduce the chance of side pins. Place the elastic band about 1.5 cm below the top of the substrate.

3. Keep an eye on the growth: Keep a close eye on the bag when the mushrooms start to grow. You don't need to water the first two times. Once the hats start to open, it's time to harvest. Note that not all varieties have veils or drop spores.

4. Harvesting: Before harvesting, ensure a clean environment by disinfecting your hands with alcohol and preferably wearing latex gloves. To harvest, turn the mushrooms clockwise. Harvest as soon as the hats begin to open for optimum potency. The fruits are ready for harvest after two to four weeks, depending on growing conditions and mushroom variety.

5. Post-harvest maintenance: After harvesting the second flush, add a small amount of water (about 1/3rd to the level of the substrate in the bag). Close the bag again with the clip and make sure it is airtight. Remember to add fresh air by removing and reattaching the clip. Pour away excess water if it has not been absorbed within 12 hours.

6. Control the temperature: Make sure the temperature remains stable within the range of 20-25 degrees Celsius (68-77°F) for best growth results. Avoid large fluctuations in temperature.

7. Follow-up harvesting: Expect to harvest at least twice from each bag, but it may also be possible to get three or even four harvests. After each harvest, reseal the bag and add water to encourage further flowering sessions.

How to store the True Albino Teacher Breeding Kit

It is wise to start the growing process immediately as soon as you receive the grow kit. If you choose to start later, which may affect the quality of the kit, you can store the grow kit in the fridge for up to 2 weeks (at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C). You can simply leave the grow bag with mycelium in the box and place it in the fridge. Make sure your fridge is clean and free of mould. As an extra precaution, you can place the kit in a clean plastic bag or culture bag.
