WHO IS PAUL STAMETS AND WHAT IS MICRODOSING STACK?

Ever heard of microdosing stacking with the Paul Stamets stack? This is a way of microdosing for the real pros in this field. With microdosing, as you probably already know, you use a fraction of a normal dose of a drug. This usually involves psychedelics like truffles or magic mushrooms, of which you take 5-10% of a serving. You do this several days of the week on a specific schedule. With micodosing stacking, you combine different substances that would thus enhance each other's potency. One of the most famous microdosing stacks is that of scientist and fungus expert Paul Stamets. Read all about this man and what his special stack can do for you here.

Who is Paul Stamets?

Paul Stamets is an American-born mycologist (fungal expert), scientist and author. For many years, he has studied the use of mushrooms and fungi for various purposes. From agriculture to ecology and medicine to personal purposes, he believes these little plants have amazing benefits for humans and nature. He has published several books and articles on this, including 'Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World'. For your convenience, he has also briefly poured these into a 17-minute TED talk. In it, he argues that mushrooms can help save our planet, which is in pretty dire straits these days - literally and figuratively.

You may not save the planet with microdosing, but you can boost your own well-being. Paul Stamets stack should be the best choice for this, if we are to believe himself.

What is the Paul Stamets microdosing stack?

Under Paul Stamets influence, a specific combination of psilocybin (from truffles or magic mushrooms) in low doses and Lion's Mane has become a popular microdosing stack. Both magic mushrooms and truffles contain the active ingredient psilocybin, which in large doses provide a trip where your senses and perception of reality can change considerably. In doses of 1/20th to 1/10th, however, this substance has very different effects. For instance, your mood, creativity, focus and overall well-being could get a boost.

Stamets' microdosing stack consists of three main components: psilocybin, Lion's Mane mushroom concentrate and vitamin B3, also known as niacin. To do this, he has created a special schedule that allows you to maintain specific doses and take these components on certain days.

Paul Stamets' schedule

Paul Stamets' microdosing stacking schedule tells you what you take and don't take of the three components mentioned each day for a week. In short, you only take psilocybin, B3 and Lion's Mane on days 1 to 4. On the other 3 days of the week, Lion's Mane and B3 are optional, but in any case you do not take psilocybin from magic mushrooms or truffles. You repeat this schedule for 4 weeks in a row. After that, you take a break for at least 2-4 weeks. Just like your muscles exposed to a training schedule at the gym, your brain also needs a rest for the necessary growth.

This is what the schedule looks like in practice:

Day 1 to 4:

  • 0.5-1.5 grams of truffles / 0.1-0.3 grams of magic mushrooms
  • 0.5-1 gram Lion's Mane
  • 25-50 mg B3

Day 5 to 7: nothing or just 0.5-1 gram of Lion's Mane and 25-50 mg B3.

After going through this schedule 4 times, rest for 2-4 weeks and repeat if necessary.

Getting started yourself?

Want to faithfully follow Stamets stack guidelines for microdosing? Then, first of all, you need vitamin B3 and Lion's Mane. You get your B3 from our Vitamin B Complex, for example. You can also easily buy Lion's Mane in our shop in ready-made capsules. Finally, you will need magic mushrooms or truffles. Given the legislation on psychedelic mushrooms, you will have to grow them yourself. Check out our mushroom grow kits, get started with your mushroom cultivation, and then weigh out the right quantities. Sound like too much work? No problem! You don't necessarily need to use magic mushrooms in your microdosing stack. Truffles also contain psilocybin. And the big advantage of truffles is that they can be sold. In our microdosing section, you will find what you are looking for. So you can start your Paul Stamets microdosing protocol tomorrow!
