The best Psytrance festivals of 2024

Solstice Festival

For the Solstice Festival, you don't have to travel far. On 15 June 2024, this dance and music festival will take place in Ruigoord near Amsterdam. Here you will celebrate the longest day of the year with music and dance. In previous years, you could indulge yourself at the Solar main stage, but now a second dance floor has been added, where even more different kinds of psychedelic music will be played. Tired of dancing and want to chill out? You can do that too at the Chill-out Polaris. The Line up includes Hatikwa, Scorb, Dickster, Flegma and Bitkit, among others. A great festival so close to home, this is not to be missed!

Antaris Project

The Antaris Project is one of the longest-running Psytrance festivals in the world. It is the mother of German music festivals. It attracts thousands of visitors every year. Antaris stands for peace and unity, values that do seem forgotten in these current times. The main stage, which has been around for 25 years, still echoes the upbeat rhythms of previous years. Now, high-level international artists come to play again.

You will hear a mix of progressive, psychedelic and old-school trance here. There is also the Chillout area, where you can unwind your senses. Here you can immerse yourself in the softer sounds of dub, ambient and deep house. Further on, you will find the Spiritual Circle, which is an oasis of calm. Here you can further explore yourself and re-energise your body with yoga and Tai Chi workshops. It is even possible to get a relaxing massage. The line-up includes Burn In Noise, Dickster, Catfish & Phil, Atia, 1200 MICS and Dekel.

Burning Mountain

If you really want to immerse yourself in a psychedelic experience for a few days, then the Burning Mountain Festival is for you. In Zernez, Switzerland, you'll spend four days in higher spheres. Here, art and music are combined and the effects are enhanced by the presence of the magical Swiss alps. For years, this festival has been known for its amazing line-ups. You will hear the best progessive psytrance from all over the world here, such as Fabio Fusco, Cheeky Jojo, Ghost Rider, D-Nation, Guiseppe, Collective Dream and Avalon.

Noisily Festival

Near Leicestershire in England, in the Coney Woods, the Noisily Festival is held every year. Here, various artists perform, not only musicians, but also dancers, artists and performance artists. In the beautiful woods, you can enjoy 4 days of psytrance, house, techno and bassline, amid innovative art, fascinating workshops and surreal views. There are also cosy bars and stages. Noisily is a holistic festival where you can recharge your mind, body and soul. Here, psychedelic culture is extensively highlighted. Artists performing there include Ida Engberg, Township Rebellion, Audley, 4D live and System 7.

Waldfrieden Wonderland

One of the best-known festivals in Europe is Waldfrieden Wonderland. As such, it has been held since 1997. For Dutch people it is quite close, as it takes place in the woods near Osnabrück in Germany, just across the border. Every summer, people immerse themselves in the Forest, which is transformed into a fairytale forest for this festival, where anything is possible. Various DJs perform, but there are also artists, yogis and shamans to guide you on your way to higher realms. There are four stages, covering all genres of psychedelic music. For example, listen to music by Altruism, Douady Rabbits, Nocturnes Creatures, Place of Error, Cosmic Playground and Azrin.

Insomnia Festival

Are you willing to travel a bit further for a great festival? Then head to Portugal's São Gião this summer. The last days of summer bring psytrance enthusiasts to this three-day extravagant music festival. There are not just some performances, but you will get an otherworldly experience here that will stay with you for a long time. People often see this festival as not just a dance festival, but as a pilgrimage, a sacred journey. Visitors immerse themselves in euphoria and trance, surrounded by the pristine nature of Portugal. So something special awaits you. One of the big names at the Insomnia Festival coming to perform here is David Guetta. Other artists you can hear here include Luna Rave, Alchemystik, Avalon, Ace Ventura, Daksinamutri, Superluminal and Psyoneer.
