Kanna is a small plant where its use goes back in history up to 300 years ago. The Hottentots, a people from the present-day province of Western Cape South Africa, discovered the miraculous psychoactive and anti-depressant effect of this succulent. She chewed the root of the kanna to awaken their animal spirits. Their faces also showed signs of happiness accompanied by loud laughter. This kanna is a very fine crystalline extract from the Sceletium tortuosum (kanna) plant. This Kanna Krystal Ultimate extract has a very high Mesembrine ratio of 70% and is therefore very powerful. Mesembrime is an alkaloid present in Sceletium tortuosum. This alkaloid has similar effects to many anti-depressant drugs. This probably explains the signs of happiness in the Hottentots after using the kanna.
