Maitake also known as Eikhaas in the Netherlands is a fungus that grows at the foot of deciduous trees. The fungus occurs in Asia, America and Europe and can grow into very large fungi with a weight of no less than 45 kilos! The use of the Maitake mushroom goes back thousands of years. In the Far East, this fungus is seen as a medicinal mushroom. The Maitake is full of Bèta glucans. These are praised for their health benefits, from supporting intestinal function to the resistance or immune system. Use
